Systems Administrator
Systems Administrator – Arlington Heights, IL office
Our 10 year old Arlington Heights-based IT support company is expanding our technical services team. We specialize in providing enterprise-class service, support, and management of small business IT infrastructures at a fraction of the cost of an in-house IT technician. Our Managed IT plan keeps things running smoothly and gives companies a predictable, fixed cost for their IT service budget.
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Administrator who shares our passion for getting things done the right way, the first time, who enjoys helping people, and who loves taking on technical challenges and resolving issues.
This position requires someone who is equal parts customer service expert and technical expert. A friendly, clear communication style and supportive, helpful attitude are must-have skills. Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange Server administration experience are required (and by “experience” we do NOT mean, “I can create a mailbox and reset passwords”).
This is a full-time position for someone that enjoys technology and hard work. We are looking for a long term member of a growing managed services team.
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Chicagoland area (In your own vehicle, mileage paid)
- Possess a continuous drive for success
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends when required
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- 2 – 4 years of recent work experience working Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange, and domain environments
Responsibilities:
- Install, Configure, and Troubleshoot Server Operating Systems (Primarily Windows Server SBS/2003/2008/2011)
- Install, Configure, Troubleshoot workstation OS’s (Windows mostly, some Mac).
- Install, Configure, and Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Firewall solutions
- Install, Configure, and Troubleshoot Business Applications and Server Services (Act/QB/AS/IIS/SQL/Exchange/AD/DHCP/DNS/SMTP/FTP/SSL/AV Solutions/Backups/ etc.)
- Have a strong understanding of Microsoft Exchange Environments and possess the confidence and experience to tackle any email related problems and design Exchange solutions
- Perform one on one consultations with customers to provide status of technology in their business
- Be the “go-to” person for technology issues big and small across a large array of technologies ranging from Microsoft office, to RAID arrays, to iPads, to Active Directory Forests, to email archiving systems. A true interest in business technology will be required.
- Provide High-Level Troubleshooting for escalated tickets and issues
- Stay current on industry trends and technologies
- Work with management and staff to implement and improve internal processes
- Act as a project manager and/or technical lead for infrastructure projects and deployments
- Experience with Kaseya or other RMM tool, and ConnectWise or other PSA tool are a plus, as you will be using both programs extensively in this role.
